We are happy to introduce to you, our guest designer, Kate Morris. Kate teaches embroidery classes at our shop, and she kindly stepped in to design and put into pattern this lovely project as one of our *Gift of the Month* mystery projects for the time when we were travelling overseas ~ October 2016.
The runner is made in a beautiful range of fabrics "Symphony Rose", and it features naive applique for the roses on the outer semi-circles, as well as embroidery within the squares of the centrepiece.
The centrepiece itself is made from a patch print fabric that has been embellished. Our kits contain this fabric, as well as all the other fabrics you need to make the runner, and they also, as usual, include the pattern.
If you wish, you can add the threads as extras to the kit. The price of these is $9. Please write in the Comments Column when you order, if you would like us to add the threads.
The pattern is also available separately. You can piece individual squares to make a centrepiece, or you can simply use a length of fabric. We have selected some fabrics that would be suitable for the option of using one print fabric for the centrepiece ~ this is a gorgeous Quilt-Gate large Rose print, and we've selected the remaining fabrics to accompany this (pictured below ~ on the bolts). These fabrics are less "fresh" and more antique in colour and tone than the original ones in the design. If you would like to order a kit in these fabrics, please note in the Comments Column "Antique Colours with single Rose print as centrepiece" or something similar, so that we can identify which fabrics you would like in your kit. Bear in mind that the embroideries within the original centrepiece would not be needed if you choose this kit. They are, however, included in the pattern you receive.
