This lovely supper cloth was a two-part project sent out to club members over two mailouts in 2015. Our members received all the embroideries first, but they had to wait untiil the next mailout to know what the project was to be. Much excitement was had by those who were furiously stitching their centrepiece without knowing how it was going to end up. They were delighted to see the second part of their project, and to know that it was designed to be a supper cloth.
Dainty china, a pretty supper cloth, and you are ready for afternoon tea with your friends. Five pretty embroideries form a nine-patch, with a print fabric, to create a charming centrepiece for this supper cloth. Framing this is a sweet embroidered border that spell vintage charm. Add to this a pretty patchwork print fabric, and a lovely open floral to finish the outer border and trim with co-ordinating tone-on-tone fabrics. Add a pieced scalloped border, and you have a winner! Showcase your prettiest china, add some fresh scones with strawberries and cream, and be prepared for a wonderful way to share your love with your special people!
Please Note: The kits we made for our club members consumed most of the fabrics you see in this sample. There are a few remainng kits, but these have a substitute for the pink, open floral outer border, and some have a substitute for the cream floral surrounding the stitchery blocks. These alternative fabrics are both very good matches to the originals, so the cloth will look just as pretty made up in these kits.
