About Faeries in my Garden
Welcome to our website! We'd love you to come in and browse for a while.
In the meantime, let us tell you a little about ourselves. Lesley and Kevin work together as owners of "Faeries in My Garden". Lesley was a secondary school teacher, specializing in English, with her special love being Poetry. Kevin was an architect who now works full time in the business, using his computer drawing skills to draw Lesley's patterns. They have four grown children, so they are now able to concentrate fully on running their business. Lesley's love is creating designs in patchwork and embroidery, and she feels extremely fortunate to be able to live her dream in providing these designs in a professional format to inspire others to do the same.
The business began in a back room of their home, and it has expanded into a shop, situated on their premises. This pretty little patchwork shop stands on the headland overlooking beautiful Moreton Bay in Shorncliffe, an historic and peaceful suburb on the north-eastern side of Brisbane, along the east coast of Australia. Faeries in My Garden has been in business since 1996, and has built up a reputation and dedicated following in Australia and around the world. It is now considered as one of the leading names in embroidered quilt design.
All of the projects shown on this website are designed by Lesley, and the patterns expertly produced by Kevin. The flavour of Faeries in My Garden is unashamedly romantic, with a special emphasis on quilts that feature embroidery. Block of the Month programmes are a much-loved feature of the business, and Lesley and Kevin take great care to provide original designs, detailed patterns, and fabrics that are shown in the original design. An exciting programme *Gift of the Month* gives members a brand new, first-release design, in the form of a mystery project each month. This club, started in 2009, is proving to be extremely popular, and member numbers are increasing each year.
New designs and programmes are always being planned, so check the "What's New" Section of the website to see these new initiatives the moment they are released!
Faeries in My Garden Patchwork has a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Faeries-in-My-Garden-Patchwork:113876422000317/ and Lesley also administers several Facebook groups: "Faerie Floss Stitchers", *Gift of the Month* Club, "An English Country Garden", "M'Lady's Dressing Room", "Elke's Garden of Daydreams & Forget-Me-Nots", and our newest group "Frangipani Summers", which shows the progress of our newest design illustrating beloved and iconic images of the 1950's.
