Do you like surprises? Do you have special people for whom you would like to make gifts? Is embroidery one of your favourite past-times? Do you love beautiful fabrics with ideas for making them into something really special? Well, this club could be just the thing for you!
As a member, every second month, you will receive the pattern and fabrics to make up a brand new, first release, mystery gift project for yourself or for the special people in your life. It works just like a block of the month, except that it is every second month, and, instead of ending up with one quilt at the end of the year, you have the wherewithall to make up six separate projects. For $39 + postage, charged every second month, you receive a mailout. Postage for within Australia and New Zealand is $7; Other overseas is $17.
If you wish, you can opt for the inclusion of all the Threads and Embellishments you will need to make up the projects. Notions are not included, but things such as charms, buttons, lace, and the full set of threads are included. This is a flat rate of $15 per project. Please note in the Comments Column if you would like us to incude the Threads and Embellishments with your membership.
Please Note: Books for this year have now closed. However, if you wish, you can join for next year. Go to the left hand menu and click on *Gift of the Month* Club to find the category for next year.
Project #1 February: "The Little House of Needles and Pins". Ths gorgeous little project was sent out in the first week of February. There are cute little storage pockets on the outside of the little house, and the roof opens to reveal space for spools of sewing thread, bobbins, etc, On top of this is a square pincushion, and inside the roof are two wool felt insertions suitable for storing your embroidery needles. What a lovely little project to start your sewing year!
Project #2 and #3 April and June ~ "Strawberries and Cream": Yes, we have an extended project going out over two months. Part 1 was sent out in April, and Part 2 followed in June.
Project #4: "Farmer's Market" Gardening Bag. This lovely large bag, featuring beautiful Lakehouse fabrics with a gardening theme, is the ideal bag to take to market, or on a picnic or even shopping. With gusseted outside pockets, and roomy inside pockets, there is plenty of storage space. This project is a quick to make one, with no embroidery, unlke other projects in the club. Those who've opted for automatic threads and embellishments for all projects, have their charge for this project ut towards the threads and embellishmenetspackage for our next project, which has a substantial pack of lovely goodies to go with the project. Can't wait to show you!
Project #5: At last! the Vintage Collage wall plaque! I've been designing and making this project for a few months, and now, finally, it has been sent out to our members. Embroidery and embellishment feature strongly in this project, and crazy patch also has a look in. With a lovely, heartfelt message, I'm sure this wall plaque will find a place either in your own home, or as a gift to someone really special.
Project #6 ~ Parisienne Travel Case. This simple design makes the most of a truly beautiful linen/cotton French vintage style print fabric. We sent out randomly either the purple or the tan version, so members received pot luck with the colourways. All the nicer because it is a surprise! This project did not contain embroidery, as it was meant to be a gift that could be made in just a few days ~ perhaps in time for Christmas if you were quick!
