The same blocks as for the augbergine/charcoal/purple version are being used for this lovely quilt. This time, it is offered in black, tan and ivory, with a touch of teale just to add interest.
The quilt features eight blocks to embroider, and one pre-printed block (the centrepiece ~ Lady Cora) for you to embellish as little or as much as you wish. Water-colour pencil painting is used to enhance the embroidery. The technique for this is quite simple, once you understand the process and practice a little. Full instructions are given in the pattern.
The embroidery in this quilt is relatively simple too. With the combinations of stitches, the colour choices, and number of strands used, it looks more complicated than it is.
The pattern contains full, detailed instructions, full colour photographs, full-size embroidery diagrams, and embroidery transfers. It's as though we are holding your hand as you make this quilt. If you have any queries or problems as you go along, you are welcome to email or phone us, and we will do our best to assist you.
The price includes pattern, fabric and postage (within Australia and New Zealand). For other overseas countries, the price is $56 per month, and this includes all of the above.
This BOM is available now, and runs over 14 months.
Extras available include: complete threads pack $89 as a one-off cost for the entire quilt. If you need more threads as you go along, these can be purchased separately. We also offer our wonderful 100% cotton embroidery stabilizer ~ Vlieseline G700 ~ 1.8 m for $33. Derwent Water-Colour pencils (tin 24) are priced at $49. If you are overseas, we suggest you source these locally if you can, because of the postage charges. Please nominate in the Comments Column any of these extras that you would like us to include, and we will post them to you with your first block.
If you are relatively new to embroidery, we suggest that you purchse a good embroidery reference book. Country Bumpkin's "A to Z of Embroidery" is a good place to start. We do sell these ~ priced at $29, so please request this in the Comments Column when you order, if you would like us to include a copy of this book.
This design is available as a Block of the Month programme as well as a kit or full pattern set. The kit includes the pattern as well as all the fabrics to make the quilt top. The pattern set consists of 14 individual, full colour patterns, each with detailed instructions, embroidery diagrams, and transfers as needed. It also includes the pre-printed panel fo the centre block "Lady Cora".
It has been an exciting process designing and stitching this quilt. Colleen is the wonderful faerie who is stitching the black/tan/ivory version, and her stitching is impeccable. We take close-up photos of the embroidery for our patterns, so rest assured you will see the details when you are stitching your own quilt.
The quilt top has now been completed, and is pictured below. We are waiting to have it quilted at present, and will post photos as soon as they are ready.
We have a very active Facebook group operating, centred around this quilt, so, if you would like to join, you are very welcome, whether or not you are participating in the BOM. it's fun to see the progress of people as they make each block, and to read the encouraging and supportive comments of other members in the group. Here is the link to this group if you would like to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/888283044579818/
